Hurricane Season

Thursday May 13th, 2010 - 4:49AM

You hear this every year about this time... hurricane season is upon us again. Does your generator and chain saw operate properly? Now is the time to find out!!! If they don't, bring them in and we'll get them in "tip top" shape for you. Remember, the day before a storm hits is not the time to take your equipment in for service. If your equipment does operate properly, exercise it every two weeks. Let your generator run for about thirty (30) minutes with a small load connected to it. Anything like a small fan, drill motor, circular saw will do. When done, turn off the fuel flow and let the unit run until it quits on it own. This will get most of the fuel out of the carburetor and you won't have the problem of a nasty carburetor from old gas. Start up that chain saw. Check the clutch drum and make sure the oiler is working. Make sure you have several chains for your saw and that they are in good shape and are sharp. Better safe than sorry. Repair times are usually long if you wait until the storm has arrived to have your equipment serviced. If you have any questions about your equipment, just give us a call and we'll do our best to help you out.
