Did you really save money?

Friday November 27th, 2009 - 9:32AM

Ok, so you think you got a bargain by purchasing that hand held lawn equipment from a large discount store. Did you really save any money? Well, you probably did at the time of purchase. Did you ask any questions about the equipment? If so, was the "associate" able to answer them? Keep in mind, the "associates" were probably mixing paint, selling lumber or appliances yesterday. So how much can they really know? Now that you have that brand new string trimmer and all those "cool" gadgets, what happens in six months when it doesn't operate properly? Take it back to the "box store" where it was purchased right? Then you discover they won't take it back and can not service it either. Oh, but that's ok, the "associate" said it's under warranty, just take it to an authorized service center and they'll fix you up. Guess what? That "associate" can not authorize warranty. To make things even worse, the service center informs you the issue is not covered by warranty and you'll have to pay for repairs. The repairs could be $70 to $80 and you only paid $129 for the equipment. Yeah, looking like you are the proud owner of a piece of junk and how much have you really saved?.

If you want to find out what to purchase and what to stay away from, visit one of the local shops. After all, we don't sell paint, lumber or anything like that. We know what good equipment is and can help you make an informed choice about your equipment. Do yourself a favor and visit a local sales and service center before making that purchase. Remember, you get what you pay for. Don't buy the "YUGO" of outdoor power equipment.

The lesson here? Purchase quality, name brand equipment and you will have fewer issues, fewer headaches and better service! Go ahead, visit or call FIXIT SHOP and we'll be happy to help you with your choice of brands to consider purchasing.
